Welcome to the website for Scunthorpe Treaders

We are a small group of guys from the Scunthorpe area, who love nothing more than pushing our minds and bodies beyond their usual limits in the name of charity. We first got together in the summer of 2005 to tackle a challenging 400 mile route from Calais to Paris and back with a brief stop to watch the finale of Lance Armstrong’s last Tour De France.

In July of 2006 we again got together, but this time for an immense 400 mile route including a long stretch of the Pennine Cycle Way. Departing from Berwick upon Tweed on Friday and arriving back in Sunny Scunny on Monday with just the small matter of England’s steepest hills and highest peaks to slow us down.

When it comes to fund raising, we are quite proud of our achievements. In our first two years of existence, we have raised just shy of six thousand pounds for our chosen charities. Unlike many fund raising groups though, not a penny of the money raised is used in expenses. That all comes from our own pockets.
