Welcome to the website for Scunthorpe Treaders

The Scunthorpe Treaderz Team was formed in 2005 by a group of like minded individuals trying to do their bit for our local charities in the Scunthorpe area.

As a team we have raised money for Victim Support, Lindsey Lodge Hospice, MS Society, St Lukes School, MacMillan Nurses and Scunthorpe Sea Cadets. Unlike many other fund raising teams, we are self funding, all of the costs in doing the charity ride are met by the individual riders so not a penny of the money raised is used towards our expenses and all of the money raised goes to the charities.

Initially we were quite a small team between 7 and 9 riders, however for 2009 and hopefully beyond we are up to 19 riders plus a support driver.

Local businesses have supported us over our first few years in many ways, use of vehicles for support purposes, donation of materials to build our own cycle trailer and donation of cash, to enable us to produce team clothing to sell for profit then donate to our charities and donation of raffle prizes. For these local businesses we do our best to advertise their help in the form of stickers on the trailer and weblinks on our website.
